The FAWCO Foundation, the philanthropic arm of FAWCO, offers The Education Awards program that benefits FAWCO Club members and their families. Monetary awards of $3000-$5000 are awarded depending on the category. The 2010 Education Awards Program was announced in August.
These three awards are open to children of all FAWCO Club members.
They recognize achievement in areas such as leadership, extracurricular and non-academic activities as well as high academic performance. Students must be between the ages of 17 and 27 and may study in any country.
These two awards are open to all FAWCO Club members (current or proposed members of the FAWCO and FAWCO Foundation Boards are not eligible).
This fund is for the parent of a student between the ages of 5 and 15 years of age with a special challenge such as physical handicap, hearing impairment, visual impairment, autism, traumatic brain injury, or with a specific learning disability.
This award was established to enable bi-cultural high school students to become better acquainted with their American culture and education by attending a semester of American high school or an academic or structured educational summer program in the United States.
The award is open to children and grandchildren of all FAWCO Club members. The candidate or the parent's candidate must live abroad at the time of application.
The candidate, the candidate's parent (or in the case of the Dual Cultural Award the candidate's grandparent) must be a member in good standing of a FAWCO Member club for at least one continuous calendar year at the time of application.
