DIRECTIONS TO TOWNS OUTSIDE OF LUXEMBOURG

These are driving directions to most of the markets that appear in the monthly Market Watch report of the AWCL Grapevine.

** BELGIUM **

Arlon (25 km/15 miles west of Luxembourg Ville)

Town Center.  Monthly outdoor flea market, first Sunday of every month, March-November. Outdoor garden market Thursday mornings.  Autoroute toward Arlon (A6/E25), Exit #32 (Weyler). Follow the signs toward Arlon Centre until you reach the public parking lot at Place Léopold near the pedestrian zone. Free parking on Sundays.

Parc des Expositions.  Military market, several times per year, Sunday mornings.  Autoroute A6/E25 toward Arlon, Exit 31 (Arlon, Virton). Turn right onto N82 toward Arlon, then right at the Hydrion Parc Commercial (shopping center). Drive to the far side of the parking lot and turn right, following the sign to Sortie.  At the end of road, turn right toward Centre Ville/Arlux. After about 1 km, turn right at the blue Institut Cinthya sign, entering the Parc des Expositions.

Ciney (120 km/75 miles northwest of Luxembourg Ville)

Ciney Expo (www.cineyexpo.be).  Antique, military and other specialty markets throughout the year.  Autoroute toward Arlon (A6/E25).  Continue past Arlon and follow the signs toward Brussels (E411).  Take Exit #20  (N97) for Ciney and follow signs to the Ciney Puces or Ciney Expo.  Free parking.  Entrance fee. 

Libramont (70 km/40 miles northwest of Luxembourg Ville)

Libramont Expo (http://www.expolibramont.com).  Antique and other specialty markets throughout the year.  Autoroute toward Arlon (A6/E25).  Past Arlon, follow the signs toward Brussels (E411) and take the exit for Libramont.  The Halles aux Foires is about 4 km from the exit. 

** FRANCE **

Metz (70 km/40 mi. south of Luxembourg Ville)

Town Center.  Farmer’s market, Saturday mornings.  Autoroute A31/E25 to Metz, Exit 32 (Metz Centre).  Follow signs to Centre Ville.

Parc des Expositions (www.metz-expo.com).  Antique and flea markets throughout the year.  Autoroute A31/E25 to Metz, Exit 32 (Metz Centre).  Follow the signs to Parc des Expositions.

** GERMANY **

Trier (45 km/27 mi. east of Luxembourg Ville)

Pedestrian Zone.  Various markets throughout the year.  Autoroute A1/E44, Exit #3 (B51, first exit for Trier).  Follow the road into town. At the first light, turn left toward Centrum crossing the bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right onto Martinsufer. Turn left at the first light and follow signs for the Kaufhof and other parking garages.

Viehmarkt.  Farmer’s market, Tuesday & Friday mornings.  Autoroute A1/E44, Exit #3 (B51, first exit for Trier).  Follow the road into town. At the first light, turn left toward Centrum crossing the bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right onto Martinsufer and go just beyond the next bridge (Römerbrücke).  Turn left at the light onto Südallee in the direction of Europahalle.  Turn left at second light onto Hindenburgstraße. 

Zurmaiener Str. Flea markets throughout the year at different locations.  Autoroute A1/E44, Exit #3 (B51, first exit for Trier).  Follow the road into town. At the first light, turn left toward Centrum crossing the bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right onto Martinsufer.  At the next light, make a U-turn left in the other direction on Martinsufer, which becomes Zurmaiener Straße.

Trier-West:  Hornstraße (next to Aldi supermarket).  Flea markets throughout the year.  Autoroute A1/E44, Exit #3 (B51, first exit for Trier).  Follow the road into town.  At the first light, continue straight on Bitburger Straße, which becomes Hornstraße.

Trier-Zewen:  Tierschutzverein (animal shelter), Heidenberg 1.  Flea markets throughout the year.  Take the autoroute A1/E44 toward Trier.  Take Exit 14, and follow the N1 to Wasserbillig.  Follow the N1 (Grand Rue) through Wasserbillig to the end at the German border (crossing the river). Turn right onto the B49. Follow the B49 several kms through the towns of Igel and Zewen.  Shortly after passing Kapellenstraße and Triererstraße on your left, take a right onto Heidenberg. 

Messepark, Trier (www.messepark-trier.de):  Flea markets throughout the year.  Take the autoroute A1/E44 toward Trier.  Take Exit 14, and follow the N1 to Wasserbillig.  Follow the N1 (Grand Rue) through Wasserbillig to the end at the German border (crossing the river). Turn right onto the B49. Follow the B49 several kms through the towns of Igel, Zewen, then Trier.  Pass Hornbach on your left and continue about 2 kms on the B49 (Luxembourger Str.) until you reach the Konrad-Adenauer Bridge near McDonald’s.  Turn right toward the bridge.  The Messepark is on your left, but you must exit right toward McDonald’s to cross under the bridge to get to the Messepark.
