Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with us at our monthly brunch on March 17.
Did you ever stop to think about what would happen if you or someone in your family had an accident or became ill and needed emergency medical care while traveling - especially in a country or area where emergency or hospital care is less than desirable?
What if you were touring Egypt, golfing in Tunisia or sightseeing in India and someone in your family had a heart attack, a life-threatening bite or accident that would require emergency medical treatment and a long-term stay in hospital?
Would you be prepared to take up residence in a hotel room indefinitely while your loved one was cared for in a second rate hospital with limited medical supplies?
We will hear from Luxembourg Air Rescue and how it has come to the aid of thousands of people in similar situations around the globe by providing emergency medical care and air transport back to the safety and security of a hometown hospital.
Alessandra Planer-Nonnweiler from LAR will walk us through some of the situations where LAR has been called to help. She will explain the credentials of the LAR emergency staff and tell us about the dangers that some of their own staff have encountered in rescuing others.
Whether you travel to exotic areas or merely back and forth to a city like Vilnius on business - would you prefer an emergency requiring long-term care or a life-threatening procedure to be handled in a hospital in a distant city or in your home city? Perhaps listening to our presentation will help you decide.
This talk is for newcomers to Luxembourg as well as long-term expats and Luxembourg residents who enjoy travel or have family members who travel frequently for business.
Additionally, guest Sandra Wersand-Quell will have available for sale beautiful and unique handcrafted jewelry from QreationS, a boutique of European artists which has items on display in several upscale locations/hotels throughout Luxembourg.
