STREFF SHREDDING INVITATION more information...
How about if you could do something environmentally friendly, clean up some
household clutter, help a charity, and prevent identity theft through a
trustworthy AWCL supporter?
You can...if you participate in a "Shredding Party"
on Saturday, June 7th between the hours of 9 till 2:00, as proposed by Stefan
Chorus, owner of Streff Moving and Security
Storage.
"People are not aware of security concerns and what
we put into our trash for pickup so carelessly. Everyone, not just bankers, have
paper-based documents, C.D.'s, DVD's, floppy disks, video and audio tapes, and
hard discs from old PC's that need to be destroyed to keep personal data safe
forever. We think it is okay when we take it to the recycling center - but
anyone can take those items. How do we know what will happen with them? Some
people know it shouldn’t just be tossed aside - but don't know where to take
them," said Chorus.
He shares the story of a royal family in a nearby
country who had deposited their trash pickup. Someone unscrupulous tried some
"dumpster diving" and discovered the proposed agenda for this family for the
next two years, along with their private staff telephone numbers. Talk about a
security breach!
Although none of us within the AWCl are nobles, we'll receive "royal" treatment if we take our paper documents, CD's, DVD's, floppy discs, video tapes, audio tapes, and hard discs that contain personal information to his archive destruction company in Windhof. Chorus is kindly charging a minimal fee - only 5 Euros for the first 20 kg of paper, and/or per 5 kg of DVD’s or per 1 kg of hard discs to be destroyed. He will donate half of this turnover to APPAAL, which helps autistic children and their education.
Chorus assures us his methods are very secure and
reliable. As a company that has a Quality, Security and Environment
certification - all items dropped off will be minutely shredded at three points,
mixed with a giant collection of other materials, and propelled through an auger
that makes your items indistinguishable from other materials. These items
eventually shall be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner - so very
little is wasted. It is also easy to drop off these materials, as the plastic
clips and metal holders from the paper files do not need to be sorted
beforehand.
"I want this to be a party so people can visit my
business. Many know about my moving company, but not this business area. I
will be offering tours for groups of 10, so people can see the large equipment
that makes this shredding possible. Coffee and croissants will be on hand, so
people can enjoy themselves, while doing something that takes care of their
security needs."
His Security Storage Company is located at 9, rue
de l'Industrie Windhof. From
